If you're interested in helping other people, making a difference, learning about flight, aviation, or just interested in a good time, then we're the place! We provide hand-on leadership training, flight training, and emergency services training. Civil Air Patrol accounts for over 90% of America’s inland search and rescue efforts, as well as playing a vital role in protecting our nations borders, and aiding in aerial reconnaissance for counterdrug operations.
The Aerospace Education Program of Civil Air Patrol is unbeatable by any other organization. CAP teaches both internal and external organizations on the impacts of aerospace in our country, and in the world. Further, each cadet is entitled to free orientation flights sponsored by the U.S. Air Force; and can receive flight training at a minimal cost in comparison to commercial methods. If you are between the ages of 12 and 21, you may qualify for cadet membership or if you are over the age of 18, you may qualify for senior membership*. If you are interested in visiting, we invite you to join us for our weekly meetings, held every Monday from 1845hrs - 2130hrs (6:45PM to 9:30PM) at our Timmerman Field Hangar, located at: 9393 West Appleton Avenue
We look forward to meeting you! If you have any further questions, please visit the Contact Us section. *Membership to Civil Air Patrol through the Timmerman Composite Squadron is considered on a case-by-case basis. The applicant must have good moral character, show interest in the programs and missions of the Civil Air Patrol, and may not have any legal convictions in their background.
